Here's my $20 Goodwill cabinet. Solid wood construction, except for the laminate top that my youngest quickly divested of its side strips.
Here's Butch who decided it would be best utilized as a dog house.
Sorry Butch, but I've got other plans!
Three coats of Glossy Black by Valspar. A pine top stained a dark walnut. A set of 6 inch legs and a quick rummage for all matching baskets in the house. Definitely not a dog house anymore.

Looks fabulous!
Love it! But I think I love Butch more!
I hope you have plans for those doors too.
I love the cabinet and I think you did a wonderful job making it look so new and beautiful, repurposing, so cool...I am a new follower of yours and I will return, come for a visit..
Wow! That cabinet came out really nice. I ♥ it!
Terry Jo, Wow! That black is gorgeous--I just love black furniture.
I have got to get me some baskets. They look amazing.
Very nice job you did on the cabinet. Isn't it a great feeling to do it on the cheap?

Terry, I just had to come back and say, I've spent the last week explore new blogs (nope, don't have the time, but I'm doing it anyway!) that you have linked to. All sorts of beautiful ladies and their homes and all sorts of frugal savings tips on making a home beautiful. It's ten times better than HGTV. Thank you! :)
Gillian, aren't they amazing and talented? I am so glad I happened upon those ladies' blogs-they've made redoing the house a fun and pleasurable activity!
Oh, and the baskets came from the dollar store!! I fell in love with them immediately and had to have one of each-they've been setting in storage for about five years while I was waiting for a way to use them!
