Moving Ahead

There is so much we writers have to do to ready ourselves for publication, the least of which is writing the phenomal book that an agent or editor will fall madly in love with.

I've been a member of a critique group for over a year. We met during Avon's FanLit writing contest and formed Passions Slaves shortly after it ended. My fellow Slaves are tremendously talented. I've watched as these ladies took an idea and stretched those ideas to become amazing books. Our Louisa was even brave enough to enter the Golden Heart and she finalled with her entry! So in view of this, the Slaves have been preparing themselves for moving ahead with their careers.

Louisa has set up a beautiful website here you must check out.
Marianne set up another beautiful site here/ that you should see.
And I can't forget Erin's classy and elegant site, here.
Gillian and I maintain our blogs, Gillian more faithfully than myself, The Gentle Art of Conversation.

So, readers that happen to be writers, what are you doing to prepare for your career? Want to leave a link and get some interest brewing for your writing? Any published authors that would like to leave a tip for us unpublished hopefuls? Feel free!

Oooooo, pretty!! Love green. Wish my yard would turn all green soon...:)

Thanks for the mention. I'm not sure about faithful--dependably sporadic, maybe. Blogger is a great way to stay in touch.

I have a blog, which you have a link to on the side of your page. Thank you so much for that!! And I'm starting a group blog with a couple of my girfriends. It's going to be awesome and cutting edge. I'll give you the link when it's up! I'll be sure and check out your friends web site's. I, of course, love Gillian's and am there all the time.
Nice new colors! Very classy!

I love the new layout, Terry! It's just lovely.

Coincidentally, my blog news is just like Kelly's - a few of my friends and I are starting a group blog in the next few weeks. Hmm...such a small world, I wonder how that happened? ;)

Okay, must say it again, I LOVE the new look! As well as all the Passion Slaves' sites - such a classy, great group!

Thank you, Gillian. Green is my favorite color and always reminds me of spring. I, too, am anxiously awaiting the green of spring and summer. I am sick of dead brown trees and leaves.

Kelly, no problem on the link. I check your blog often, even if I am one of the worst commenters ever! I tend to lurk at most places.

Please be sure to give me the link-I love discovering new blogs! I'll try not to lurk too much ;0)

Marianne, thank you for the compliment. I like how it turned out. I was a little nervous about using something I designed, but then I figured what the heck, just put it on there. I am so glad you like it.

Mary, you will have to link us up to your new site-or is it the same one? Either way, make sure to let us know!

Thank you on the compliment! You know, looking at it, it is kind of soothing, don't you think? Maybe it's just me, but I am so glad you like it.

I love the colors, green being my favorite.

I have a blog, which I tend to only write on it on Thursdays, or when KU wins the NCAA Championships.

I also blog with a group of writers at www.romanceroundtable.com, most of us met through Avon Fanlit too.

Renee, welcome!

I will definitely check out your blog.

I am a lurker at Romance Roundtable. I need to break my lurker habit and start leaving comments, because I really enjoy the blogs I visit.

Fanlit was an inspiration for all of us, wasn't it. When we all get published (because I am an eternal optimist and refuse to think otherwise!), Avon can set back and take credit for all of us.
